The Blacklight Run

At 7.15p.m. on the 28th March,  the runners in the Blacklight Run set off to run 5km along Southsea seafront.  With the focus less on speed and more on the UV Neon Glowing fun this event attracted runners of all ages and experience.

Black Light Run Liz Kelly Brickwood

Kelly Brickwood and her sister Elizabeth ran to raise their £100 Fundraising Pledge for Leukaemia Busters and have ended up raising over £730 so far!  Photo:  Liz (left) and Kelly at the end of the run.

Kelly and Liz told us:  ‘The experience was amazing from start to finish.  It was a very popular run, around 5000 took part.   Our participation was all in honour of Anthony Brickwood.  He was so grateful and proud of us as were our whole family for the efforts we made to raise awareness for Leukaemia and donations to a great cause Leukaemia Busters.    Anthony has had a tough few years dealing with his health and it was nice to celebrate positivity in our family and focus on the future it’s all the little things we appreciate now and it’s made us all so much stronger as a unit. We would like to think in the future we will continue to raise awareness as a family and take part in annual charity events to help Leukaemia Busters.
