Everest Trek

At EBC 2 Simon Lewis returned from Everest on 30th November and reports:

The trek was very tough. We lost 2 days of our schedule at the start of the trek due to flights to Lukla not running because of cloud and mist at Lukla. That meant we were very tight for getting the trek completed. Obviously when we were ascending we had to still go slow and steady to acclimatise so we had to make up most of the time on the way back down which meant a couple of very long hard days straight after the quite tough days of reaching base camp and the summit of Kala Patthar. The weather was bitterly cold at times, even to the point that my heavily insulated and “guaranteed not to freeze” hydration pack actually froze twice, limiting my drinking water on a couple of days. But overall it was brilliant and I managed to get it all completed!

Congratulations Simon – thank you for raising over £465.00 for Leukaemia Busters.
