Dinner with Murray Walker

The dinner with Murray Walker, held at the Master Builders Hotel on a wet and windy 6th February, was an unqualified success.  80 tickets were sold to dedicated Murray fans who, given the chance, would have listened to the voice of Formula 1 speak for a lot longer than was possible. 

After a superb meal Murray took to the floor and regaled the diners with stories from his long career as a commentator of Formula 1 and motorcycle racing.  The evening raised a total of £1846 in total  for Leukaemia Busters with £545 being raised by a raffle at the end of the evening.  Murray also spent time signing both menus and personal memorabilia which the diners had brought along with them.

Murray commented, “Cancer in any form is still a much feared affliction even though many millions of pounds have been spent on research designed to understand and overcome it. For children to suffer its ravages is especially tragic and that is why I so strongly support the worthy fund-raising activities of Leukaemia Busters. Please help them to save young lives.”
