Board of Trustees

The Leukaemia Busters Board of Trustees is responsible for steering the direction of the charity’s work and in ensuring that the money raised is spent effectively for the purposes and objects of the charity. The board is comprised of individuals with varied backgrounds and with a wide range of skills. They are as follows:

Chair of Trustees

Mr Robert W Sutcliffe B.Ed

A retired head teacher and one of the co-founders of the charity.

At Leukaemia Busters we strive to develop new treatments not only for patients with currently incurable forms of leukaemia but also to eventually supplant existing treatments, thus making future treatments safer and yet more effective. Our modern purpose built laboratories at Southampton General hospital actively collaborates with other research teams both nationally and internationally. These like-minded doctors and scientists are determined to unravel the complex challenge of curing leukaemia. However, research is an expensive enterprise and we rely entirely on charitable donations to continue our essential work. The charity has achieved so much over the past two decades through the determined efforts of our many fundraisers. With your continuing support we can move ever closer towards a cure for currently incurable forms of leukaemia

Trustees

In Memoriam

SteveRGWe are very saddened to report the death of Leukaemia Busters trustee Steve Robinson-Grindey after a prolonged illness. Steve became trustee to Leukaemia Busters in 2009 and played an active and valuable role in helping plan the charity’s fundraising strategy and using his legal background for the direct benefit of the charity. Steve has been associated with Leukaemia Busters since 1990. He was responsible for designing and operating the charity’s very first website in 1992, well ahead of most other charities at that time. Steve was a popular well loved figure and will be greatly missed by everyone. Our deep sympathies go to his wife Beverley, daughter Lisa and grandson Harry.
