Our Scientific Director Dr David Flavell explains about the life saving research work being conducted by Leukaemia Busters scientists and doctors.
This event, on May 15th, was attended by over 100 guests. The newly opened Hilton at The Ageas Bowl sponsored a Pimms Reception before a 3-course meal in the ballroom. After the meal, BBC Television's Sally Taylor MBE and David Gower OBE took to the stage and entertained the guests with an interview covering everything from the 'KP Question' to questions from the guests about the advantage of batsmen being left handed.
Following the interview David then auctioned various donated items included tickets to the England v New Zealand International Match in June, tickets to the Mayflower Theatre to see Top Hat and a SpaDay at the Senspa in Careys Manor Hotel, Brockenhurst.
There were also raffle prizes available ranging from One Day cricket tickets, tickets to Southampton Boat Show plus bouquets and hampers from local suppliers.
Leukaemia Busters hopes that the evening will have raised over £6000 towards David Gower's Blood Flow Appeal for the charity and thanks all the guests, sponsors and prize donors for their generosity.
